Many contractors think pollution insurance is only relevant to asbestos abatement companies, hazardous-waste haulers or environmental remediation firms. In reality, routine contracting operations can disturb, release, transport or spread substances that may be treated as pollutants.
Pollution is broader than hazardous waste
A pollution condition can involve substances commonly found on everyday jobsites. The exact policy definition matters, but potential contractor pollutants can include:
